With this format, you can put up a bidding card for silent bids. This way people can drop a bid off on the piece of paper and then continue wandering around and meeting people. This allows for one character to wander around and talk to all the ladies and other bidders -- without having to worry that they might miss out on a bid somewhere in all of the chatting.

This is the format that was used in the last Bachelorette Auction - but I wasn't sure if people thought it was tedious to have to comment in two places with their bids. (ie: in the chat with people thread & the actual bidding card)
